Michael Costello – Chairman

Until 2005, Michael was the President/CEO of BC Transmission Corporation, and prior to this was President of BC Hydro and Power Authority. He has served as Deputy Minister of Finance and Secretary to the Treasury Board as well as Assistant Deputy Minister of the Provincial Treasury for the Government of British Columbia. Michael has held positions on more than 20 Boards and Councils, and has served as Chair for both the Canadian Electricity Association and the Energy Council of Canada.  He currently serves on the Boards of the Ontario Power Authority, In Transit BC, and the Vancouver Island Health Authority.  In addition he is a Lecturer at the University of Victoria (School of Public Administration).

Michael Gardner – Director

Mike currently serves as the CEO of Recombo, a leading provider of online agreement and secure signature software. As past president of Cayenta, an ERP software manufacturer, he formulated the strategic vision for the company and all of its products. During his 6-year tenure with Cayenta, the company posted strong financial results and increased levels of customer satisfaction. With more than 15 years’ management experience, Mike also has a strong strategic operations background in software development, transportation/distribution, and retail e-commerce.  He has previously served as Board President of the ALS Society of British Columbia and as a Board Member of ASL Canada.

Michael d’Abadie – Director

As Senior Partner in the Vancouver accounting firm he founded in 1984, Michael began his accounting career in 1968 with Price Waterhouse (Kingston, Jamaica), and then migrated to Australia in 1974 where he worked for Coopers & Lybrand (Brisbane) for two years. He then migrated to Vancouver, where he initially worked as an Exchange Examiner at the Vancouver Stock Exchange for three years, following which he returned to public practice in 1979 with Grant Thornton (Vancouver). With extensive financial market experience, Michael has also served as the CFO of Haywood Securities Inc. (Vancouver) for three years

Herbert Dodd – Director

With more than 30 years’ experience in commercial transactions, corporate finance, securities and banking, Herb has well honed negotiating skills plus in-depth knowledge interpreting a wide variety of financial documents. His expertise extends to project financing and public/private partnership transactions. Herb has acted for issuers and purchasers of debt securities in connection with the financing of cogeneration plants and hydroelectric facilities as well as for a short-listed proponent in the Okanagan Lake Crossing transaction and for the lender to a proponent in the Sea to Sky Highway project.

Herb also acted for British Columbia Transmission Corporation in connection with its assumption of the operation and management of the electricity transmission system from BC Hydro. He represented the pipeline companies in the financial restructuring of the Vancouver Island National Gas Pipeline, including provincial support arrangements through royalty payments.

Graham Carter – Director

As President/CEO and Co-founder of Axia Software Corporation, Graham has a strong background in technology development and business integration.  He has been a founder and held numerous executive and director-level positions in the power and forestry industries as well as the renewable energy sector. Having worked extensively in North America, Australia and his native New Zealand, Graham continues to win industry-wide recognition for his Advanced Investment Planning (AIP) thought leadership.

Trevor St. Germain – Director

As Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder of Axia Software Corporation, Trevor has devoted his entire engineering career to driving technology advances in the North American power industry. Always at the forefront of enhancing system reliability, his innovation prowess has been particularly evident in transforming Applications Investment Planning (AIP) concepts into powerful software tools. Trevor continues to refine and expand upon Axia’s REVEAL™ Suite to make it the preferred solution among asset intensive industries.
