Vancouver, B.C. Canada – Monday February 1st, 2010 – Axia Software, technology leaders in Asset Investment Planning (AIP) software, is proud to announce that it has been selected as one of only six newcomers to be added to Rocket Builders’ 2010 “Ready to Rocket” list. The eighth-annual list released by Rocket Builders includes 19 companies named in previous years. Each year Rocket Builders selects twenty-five (25) B.C. companies that it feels are best positioned to capitalize on trends that contribute and will drive growth in the information technology sector as a whole.

“We are extremely honoured to be selected as one of BC’s top 25 from a significant number of exceptional companies, says Graham Carter, co-founder and chief executive officer of Axia Software. “Axia has worked very hard to establish its leadership position in providing AIP software to energy utilities, which is expected to have substantial market growth this year. We look forward to helping more companies achieve greater reliability and investment efficiency.”

Industry analyst firm Gartner1 believes that broad based AIP adoption will happen in the next 2 to 5 years as energy and utility executives push for further cost-cutting initiatives to drive performance, while asset managers and IT leaders must leverage asset investment planning processes and tools to help prioritize budgets, drive long-term business performance and minimize risk.

“Each year when we choose the Ready to Rocket companies, we are looking for those companies that have best matched technical innovation with market opportunity. Axia Software Corporation is an excellent example of the right technology for the right customers at the right time.” said Reg Nordman, Managing Partner, Rocket Builders.

The ‘Ready to Rocket 25′ list is published by Vancouver-based management consulting firm Rocket Builders who are focused on helping technology companies identify and capitalize on market opportunities. The “Ready to Rocket” list is the only predictive list of its kind in North America and has accurately identified companies that went on to enjoy commercial success, investment growth, and acquisition activity.

To determine the list of companies for inclusion in the ‘Ready to Rocket’ list, Rocket Builders reviewed market positioning and revenue potential for over 100 nominated companies.

About Ready to Rocket

Ready to Rocket is a unique business recognition list that profiles technology companies with the greatest potential for revenue growth. Each year, based on analysis of trends that will drive growth in the information technology sector, Rocket Builders identifies twenty-five (25) private companies that are best positioned to capitalize on the trends for growth. This selection methodology has been an accurate predictor of growth with “Ready to Rocket” companies exceeding the industry growth rate. Also, many of these companies raise investment capital and each year many of the profiled “Ready to Rocket’ companies are acquired.
Author: Jon C. Arnold, Managing Director, Worldwide Power & Utilities Industry, Microsoft Corporation

One of the most effective ways that utility and energy companies can do more with less is by optimizing both current and future asset investment decisions. Due to the growing number of complex variables that drive such decisions today, the optimization of what, when and where investments must be made (to implement and maintain a Smart Grid initiative, for example) demand far more than the “what if” scenarios that organizations can formulate manually. While external spreadsheet perspectives may help organizations to prioritize and give weighting to some variables, this data becomes much better vetted and far more meaningful when aggregated and analyzed with other critical and multifaceted data sets such as those generated by a company’s ERP, EAM, GIS and Legacy systems.

Processing multiple data sets that comprehend numerous changing asset investment planning (AIP) variables, both quantitative and qualitative, is a daunting task without the proper analytical tools. Fortunately, sophisticated AIP software is available to simplify this task from our Gold Certified Partner Axia Software, within the new Windows® 7 operating system, in its new REVEAL™ AIP Software solution.

Backed by a certified software development team and leveraging more than 25 person years of development work, Axia Software’s REVEAL™ AIP Suite was designed from the ground up to orchestrate analytical algorithms and multiple data sets to optimize asset investment decisions. On November 30, 2009, all salient AIP attributes embodied in REVEAL became seamlessly operable with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7. These attributes include multi-year project and program tracking, asset investment optimization, and linking corporate objectives to capital investment plans for asset lifecycle management.

So what benefits, if any, come from porting Axia’s REVEAL software to Windows 7?

According to Trevor St. Germain, CTO of Axia Software, the REVEAL AIP Suite runs faster and looks better on both 32- and 64-bit flavors of Windows 7 than it did running on earlier XP and Vista operating systems. However, the benefits are more pronounced with the 64-bit option, notably, faster booting and improved security plus a significant increase in operating speed of the REVEAL optimization engine, thereby boosting overall performance. And since REVEAL is architected on the .net framework and supports the Microsoft Smart Energy Reference Architecture (SERA), Axia has leveraged this technology in ways to further benefit its customers by facilitating the alignment of information technology with their business processes to create an integrated utility which bodes well for utility and energy companies on a mission to do more with less. – Jon C. Arnold: Microsoft Power and Utilities Blog

San Diego, California at DistribuTECH 2009 – February 3, 2009, – Axia Software, leader in Asset Investment Planning solutions celebrates its first anniversary release of “REVEAL”, a revolutionary Asset Investment Planning Suite at DistribuTECH in San Diego, California today, through February 5, 2009.

“Since we launched REVEAL at DistribuTECH in Tampa, Florida a year ago, we’ve had tremendous response from the utilities industry,” comments Tim Heintzman, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Axia, “we’ve seen more demand for advanced Asset Investment Planning solutions as utilities continue to look for innovative ways to improve the efficiency of how capital is spent in supporting their aging and ever expanding infrastructures.”

On its second year at the DistribuTECH conference, Axia’s REVEAL remains uniquely positioned and has particular appeal to utility organizations in the face of continued fiscal restraint, where infrastructure expenditures must meet monetary and reliability targets, as well as helping utilities to reach their other strategic goals such as improving their eco footprint and investing in more clean or zero emission type projects.

At DistribuTECH 2009, Axia will be demonstrating its REVEAL Asset Planning Suite solution at Booth 2219, located on the main exhibit floor of the San Diego Convention Center. For more information on DistribuTECH, visit www.distributech.com.

Team Axia to participate in this years Movember cancer awareness drive.

What is Movember?

Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a charity event held during November each year. At the start of Movember guys register with a clean shaven face. The Movember participants, known as Mo Bros, have the remainder of the month to grow and groom their moustache, raising money and awareness along the way.

The Obvious Question Is Why?

Men lack awareness about the very real health issue they face. Many feel they have to be tough – “a real man” – and are reluctant to see a doctor about an illness or to go for regular medical check ups.

The aim of Movember is to change this attitude. Make men’s health fun by putting the moustache back on the face of Canadian men and raising some serious funds for prostate cancer. Every year around 24,700 Canadian men are diagnosed with prostate cancer and about 4,300 die of the disease, making it the number one cancer threat to Canadian men. Movember is very proud to be partnering with the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of Canada.
